PROFILE

Dr.Mukeshkumar B. Baraiya serves as the Director of Physical Education and Sports, bringing a powerful blend of elite field expertise and high-level academic rigor to the institution. An accomplished academician, active researcher, and former national-level athlete, Dr. Baraiya possesses over 16 years of rich teaching, coaching, and leadership experience in sports science and physical education.

His academic journey is marked by stellar distinctions, including graduating as a double Gold Medalist during both his Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) and Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) studies. He earned his Ph.D. from the prestigious Gujarat Vidhyapith, Ahmedabad in 2015 and is UGC-NET qualified (2007).

Beyond the field, Dr. Baraiya is a deeply committed scholar shaping the future of sports science. He is a recognized Ph.D. Guide at Gujarat University, mentoring the next generation of researchers in the discipline. His leadership spans across the broader academic community, frequently serving as:

RESEARCH INTEREST

Dr. Baraiya’s research focuses on exercise physiology, sports psychology, and fitness. As a Research fellow and Ph.D. guide, he investigates the therapeutic impacts of exercise, nutrition and yoga on holistic health, wellness, and obesity management, blending scientific performance optimization with practical lifestyle interventions to enhance athletic resilience and public well-being.
