Shree Lalshankar Umiyashankar Arts and Harivadan and Padmaben Thakore Commerce College for Women is one of the oldest women’s colleges of Gujarat and the oldest women’s college of Ahmedabad. Founded in 1920, it has an illustrious history and a vibrant pulsating present. Today, as many as 1500 students take a variety of courses from the college every year and have ample opportunity to develop their potential. It is a grant-in-aid college affiliated to the Gujarat University, offering degrees in Arts(including Home Science) and Commerce to girls through the Gujarati and English medium. Along with basic degrees, students can pursue add-on career oriented certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses-approved by the UGC and the Gujarat University. Skill oriented certificate, diploma courses; remedial courses and IT courses are also offered.
